Sketch Buddy is an app for children that works together with the Sketch Buddy projector toy. We designed it to collect as little information as possible. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do.
What the app does NOT collect
- No accounts, names, email addresses, or contact information
- No location data
- No advertising identifiers — the app contains no ads of any kind
- No analytics or behavioral tracking
- No IP addresses or device fingerprints stored by us
- Photos and camera images never leave the device except to be sent directly to your own Sketch Buddy projector over Bluetooth
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera and photo library so a child can turn a picture into a drawing and project it with the Sketch Buddy projector. These images are processed entirely on the device. They are transmitted only over a direct Bluetooth connection to your own projector, and are not uploaded to us or to any third party.
Bluetooth
The app uses Bluetooth only to find and connect to the Sketch Buddy projector. It does not scan for, connect to, or collect information about any other devices.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, a technical crash report is sent to our error monitoring service (Sentry) so we can fix the problem. These reports are configured to contain no personal information: no names, no IP addresses (IP storage is disabled), no advertising identifiers, and no photos. They include only technical details such as the app version, device model, and the technical error itself. Crash reports are not linked to any identity and are never used for advertising or shared with anyone else.
Children's privacy
The app is designed for children and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families policies. Because we do not collect personal information, there is nothing to sell, share, or delete. There are no in-app purchases, no ads, no social features, and no links out of the app.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what the app collects, we will update this policy and the app's Google Play listing before the change takes effect.
